History

Roger Brown is the founder of Focal Point Garden Design. His career in the landscaping and garden design industry commenced in 1992 working with landscaping and maintenance company, Garden Tapestry. It provided an ideal grounding to learn his trade and Roger built on his knowledge through his studies in horticulture and garden design. He graduated in 1996 with an Advanced Certificate of Horticulture from Burnley Horticultural college and in 1998, Roger founded Focal Point Garden Design.

Roger's early designs were mainly for suburban blocks in Melbourne’s eastern  and south eastern suburbs and through word of mouth referrals he found opportunities to design and landscape different styles of gardens in a range of environments around Melbourne. His commitment to  designing and landscaping a property to suit the needs and lifestyle of his clients whilst complimenting the available terrain, has helped Roger establish a reputation as a sought-after suburban designer in Melbourne.

Roger's capacity to understand and integrate his client's lifestyle requirements in the design process coupled with his creative flair, extensive plant knowledge, consideration of environmental factors,  landscaping skills and experience and strong attention to detail, have combined to yield a variety of successful and imaginative projects, built to the highest standards and to the great satisfaction of his clients. 

His ethos of delivering creative yet practical garden design and construction and his commitment to a reliable and honest work ethic have been invaluable to the growth of Focal Point Garden Design.
